DC at Festival in Dereham

Well, we said we'd be playing a lot in August. News just in is that we're playing at a festival in Dereham on Sunday 19th at the King's Head Hotel.
We'll be on between 6pm and 8:30pm. The festival is in aid of Mencap and as you can see from the poster there are lots of bands and activities for very all ages. Gates open at 12 noon and entry is £5 (children free). Buy tickets at the bar of the King's Head or phone 01362 693842.

DC in August

If you've never seen the DC Wilson Band in concert -- or want to come back for another dose of our good-time funky blues -- now's the time. We have a busy month ahead, with lots of chances to see us live.

At 3pm on Sunday 5th August we'll be playing by the waterside at the Rushcutters in Norwich. Come and spend a hopefully sunny afternoon with a blazers-and-boaters theme. Very nautical. Henry threatens to wear his lime green mankini.

If an evening gig is more your thing, we'll be back at The Gull at Framingham Pigot, at 8.30pm on Friday 10 August; and the next night -- Saturday 11 August, 9pm -- at the Walnut Tree Shades, in the heart of Norwich.

The following Saturday, 18 August, we'll be rocking the Louis Marchesi in Tombland, Norwich, from 9pm; on Sunday 26 Aug we'll be back at the Rushcutters.

And there's still a chance we'll squeeze another one in. Watch this space.

That Was Dereham That Was

We very much enjoyed playing at the Dereham Blues Festival - the fifth consecutive year that the band has appeared there. As a souvenir you can hear some of our choice cuts on a CD which will be available free, from the band directly or our CD page.

DC Does Dereham!

At 9pm on Friday 13th the band will be playing at the MAIN EVENT in Dereham - yes, it's the Dereham Blues Festival once again, and it'll be DC's fifth appearance at that venerable occasion. Even so, with Simon Sales and Henry Gee it'll be an entirely new band.

There are a lot of other bands on simultaneously, at once and at the same time - so we'll be doing our best to keep your attention with our distinctive brand of foot-tapping, funky and upbeat blues. See you there!

Hot, Hot, Hot!

What a party that was. The drinks were loaded, and so were the dolls. Violin cases, flapper dresses, feather boas, and suits so sharp you could cut yourself ... and that was just DC. Yes, that was the DC Wilson Band at the Gull Speakeasy Restaurant and Inn in Framingham Pigot where our Gangsters'n'Molls Night saw more shady characters on the dancefloor than the Southside of Chicago Norwich has seen since the St Valentine's Day Massacre. Press Gal Jean Perkins took some great pix (below, and on our pix page) and also shot some videos, which you can see on our flix page. Thanks Jean!

Here is the lucky winner of our best costume competition, who received a bottle of bootleg hooch from the Gull, and an exclusive edition of our live CD Follow The Hat!
On the QT, we heard she'd gone to the Powder Room to manicure her gloves.

Here is the band giving it some hectic R'n'B without breaking a sweat, while the crowd goes wild.

But wait - there's more. On Saturday 30th we played a rockier set in the more intimate surroundings of the Cross Keys in Wymondham, where we let our hair down. Or would, if we'd had any.
See you on Friday the 13th at the Dereham Blues Festival!
